Welcome to JacobMMA.com, home of the Texas Mixed Martial Artist Jacob Austin. Jacob currently resides near Houston, TX where he is a Firefighter and EMT. He trains at 4oz. Fight Team under Coach Bob “The General” Perez and trains with many UFC, Strikeforce, and Legacy fighters. Before moving to Houston, he was training at XFC Training Center in Cedar Park under the tutelage of Edy Ngamkhao. Typically, Jacob fights at 145lb and holds an impressive Professional MMA record of 5-1. He has Wrestled since 6th grade at Miami Springs Middle School, in Miami Fl.
In high school, he was a 3x State qualifier and 2x State wrestling placer at Miami Springs High School where he amassed a record of 127-16 during his 4 years there. He was a multiple time national team member and an NHSCA National All-American at 140lb in 2003. He played other sports but mainly wrestled year round because Summer wrestlers make Winter champions. After high school he wrestled for a year at Lakeland College, then started coaching at a local high school and started a children's program. He then moved to Denton Texas in 2007 to finish his bachelors degree in Business Administration at the University of North Texas. There he began his Jiu-Jitsu/MMA training at Denton BJJ under Black Belt Kirk Gibson. Within a year he received his Blue belt and would enter grappling tournaments in the black belt division just to challenge himself. His wealth of experience and talent led him to turn pro in 2008. To further improve his striking ability, Jacob became a professional boxer in early 2010. His future goals include to perfect his fighting skills, receive a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and fight in Japan and for the UFC. Look for some HUGE things to happen in 2012 and for him to be holding a few local championship belts in Texas and Oklahoma.
